Captain Graciela Tiscareno-Sato is Hayward’s local Air Force aviation veteran, Air Medal recipient, keynote speaker, and award-winning author of the world’s FIRST children’s aviation book series published fully in Spanish and English.
This educational, ground-breaking book series was inspired by Graciela’s decade of service flying the KC-135 aerial refueling tanker (think airborne gas station) after graduating from and receiving her commission at U.C. Berkeley.
Graciela’s national mission is to inform and inspire girls and boys in the USA and their families to connect with scholarships, pursue higher education pathways, and pursue the miraculous career of global military aviation… bilingually.
She brings her flight suits to events so kids and teens can literally SEE themselves as future aviators and stayed inspired to pursue a life and career in the sky.
The Captain Mama series delights families, teachers, and scholars with tales from the airborne gas station on which Graciela served for over 2000 flight hours.
